| This weapon was developed during
WWII when there was a need for a gun that was easy to
mass produce. The weapon was made from stampings with
little in the way of machined parts except the barrel and
bolt. It worked by blowback and there was no provision
for firing single rounds. The lack of single shot was not
a problem as its cyclic rate was low. Its nickname came
about due to the guns close resemblence to a grease gun.
The gun worked by blowback and had a retractable wire
stock. The weapon was 29.8" long with an 8"
barrel and a muzzle velocity of 920 f/s. |
