M1903 Springfield
This rifle had become general US issue by 1906 replacing the Krag-Jorgensen carbine. The overall length of the rifle is 43.2" with a barrel length of 24" and a muzzle velocity of 2800 f/s. The rifle was modified in 1918 to allow conversion to an automatic weapon using the Penderson device. Another modification was the addition of the pistol grip to the stock in 1929. There was a target variation that was fitted with a Weaver telescopic sight for use as a sniping rifle in WWII.
