When did you join the SELHG ?
I joined in 2008
How did you find out about the SELHG ?
From the 1st Sargeant Shaun Bartlett at an Event
What got you interested in Re-enacting and why the 101st ?
Well, i have had a big interest in World War Two US History and i took after my dad who is a big World War Two collector, i've been to many shows like War and Peace and Military Odyssey and had seen many Living History Groups including the SELHG prior to joining. The reason why i chose the 101st is that the Division has a lot of history especially their actions during World War 2. I was a fan of the movie Battleground involving the 327th Glider Infantry 101st Airborne so since seeing that movie i have been very interested.
Do you own a Military Vehicle ?
Hopefully a 1945 Ford GPW by this weekend.
Weapon of choice in the Group ?
M1 Garand Rifle.
Have you been a member of any other Living History Group ?
I did join a World War 2 British Group but that didn't work out so i left, wasn't in it for long though.
What has been the best Event you have attended with the SELHG ?
Well, it would have to be dug in at Dead Man's Corner outside Carentan, France two years ago at the 65th Anniversary. We were all together and dug into trenches and fox holes defending the roads leading into Carentan, it was a great week over there with the Group. Saying that all the Events are good and definitley worth attending.
What regular Event do you enjoy the most ?
I actually can't wait for every Event they dont come round quick enough and i'm there with me kit ready the week before just waiting for that week to hurry up so i can get back with the boys of the SELHG.
Do you have any military experience ?
I've never been in the Forces but i have been in the Army Cadet Force since 1998 so it does bring a lot of experience to the Group.
